With WinShield installed on your PC, you can ensure that no one but yourself has access to the computer. When the shield is activated, the application blocks access to the Task Manager, to the Alt+Ctrl+Del keys, and to the Windows operating system. Access to the PC will be granted only when the correct password is provided.

To install and run WinShield on your Windows PC (anything from Windows 95 onward), it must meet the following system requirements: 200MHz or better processor, 32MB of RAM memory or more. Even an older PC will easily meet these requirements, let alone a modern one.

When you launch WinShield for the first time, it prompts you to set a master password. This password will protect access to the application’s settings menu and will block access to your PC when the shield is activated.

The application’s dark interface is incredibly simple. To the right, it features three buttons – one for starting the shield, one for accessing the settings menu, and one for viewing the log file. Such a simple interface will be no challenge to any user, not even to a complete novice. A glance at the interface is all it takes to familiarize yourself with it.

Hit the “Start Shield” button and the WinShield application will put your computer on lockdown. The screen will go black and a “Please enter your password” piece of text will be presented at the top of the screen. Unless you provide the right password, you’re locked out. Provide the right password though and you will be given access to the Windows OS.

You have 10 uses at your disposal to evaluate the functionality WinShield has to offer. Once your uses are up, you will have to get a license to keep using the application.

Password protect access to your computer with WinShield and thus ensure no one gets to mess around with your data.

Pros

The requirements for running WinShield are quite low. The application’s dark interface is very easy to use. Put your computer on lockdown with a simple mouse click. There’s a feature to schedule auto protection. Access to the scheduler and the program’s settings is password protected.

Cons

10-uses trial.
